New Antenna Connection Guide for XM Player
When you receive antennas directly from us, they come pre‑configured and ready to use. Each antenna is set with a static IP address 192.168.1.127 and already assigned as either an Access Point (AP) or a Client. No advanced setup is needed – just connect and go.
This guide walks you through connecting and verifying your antennas.
What You’ll Need
-
One or two TP‑Link antennas (depending on your installation)
-
A Windows computer with an Ethernet port
-
Ethernet cables
-
Power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors (included with each antenna)
Step 1: Connect the Antenna to Your Computer
-
Take the first antenna and connect it to your computer using an Ethernet cable.
-
Plug one end into your computer’s Ethernet port.
-
Plug the other end into the antenna’s LAN/PoE port.
-
If you’re using the PoE injector, connect it between the computer and the antenna according to the antenna’s manual.
-
-
Power the antenna using the PoE injector. You should see indicator lights on the antenna.
Step 2: Set Your Computer to a Static IP on the Same Subnet
-
Open Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharing Center.
-
Click Ethernet → Properties.
-
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
-
Choose Use the following IP address and enter:
-
IP address:
192.168.1.100(or any address in the192.168.1.xrange except127) -
Subnet mask:
255.255.255.0
-
-
Click OK and close all windows.
Step 3: Log In to the Antenna
-
Open a web browser and type:
https://192.168.1.127(orhttp://if the browser doesn’t automatically use HTTPS). -
When prompted, enter the pre‑configured username and password:
-
Username:
Signcity -
Password:
signcity123
(Note: both are case‑sensitive.)
-
-
Once logged in, you’ll see the antenna’s dashboard. You can verify its operating mode (Access Point or Client) under Status.
Step 4 (Optional): Using Two Antennas (Point‑to‑Point)
If you received two antennas, they are already paired:
-
One antenna is configured as an Access Point (AP) – this one will be mounted on the sign.
-
The other is configured as a Client – this one will be placed near your computer.
Repeat Steps 1–3 for the second antenna to confirm it is working.
When both are powered and placed within range, they will automatically form a wireless bridge.
Step 5: Final Placement – Which Antenna Goes Where?
-
The Access Point (AP) antenna goes on the sign. Connect it to the sign’s Ethernet port using the PoE injector.
-
The Client antenna goes near your computer. Connect it to your PC’s Ethernet port (again with the PoE injector).
When the sign is powered on, the AP antenna (on the sign) will show LED activity lights (usually flashing or solid). This is a quick way to verify that the sign is providing power and data to the antenna.
If you are replacing an old antenna with a pre‑configured one:
-
Disconnect the old antenna.
-
Connect the new AP antenna to the sign’s Ethernet port.
-
Check that the antenna’s status lights come on (all of them) – this confirms it is working.
Using a Single Antenna or Direct Cable Connection
The static IP method described in Step 2 is the same whether you are:
-
Connecting directly to the sign’s controller with an Ethernet cable (no antennas).
-
Using a single antenna (e.g., an Access Point connected to your computer, with the sign connected via cable or a second antenna).
-
Setting up a full point‑to‑point wireless link.
In all cases, set your computer’s Ethernet adapter to a static IP in the same subnet as the device you want to reach (192.168.1.x for the final network). Then open XM Player, go to Control → Search, and your sign should appear.

Troubleshooting: Antenna Not Showing Activity Lights
If the antenna’s power light is on but there are no link/activity lights, you may need to reset the antenna.
