Antenna Configuration Guide – Repeater and Access Point Setup

For signs located far from the main building, a repeater is used to extend the network. All signs from LED Sign City include one repeater that connects the sign to the on-site Wi-Fi network, enabling remote access to the online software.

An extra repeater is required when the on-site Wi-Fi signal is weak.

Important Rule

The distance between two repeaters and the main router cannot be obstructed by buildings.
For the connection to work, there must be a clear line of sight between repeater to access point

Physical obstacles like buildings or dense structures will prevent the signal from working properly.

How to Program the Antennas

First Antenna – Programmed as Standard Repeater

This repeater is placed outside the building where the Wi-Fi signal is strongest, to extend the network outward toward the sign.

Second Antenna – Programmed as Access Point (AP)

This AP connects directly to the sign.

Step 1: Switch the antenna from Master (M) mode to Slave mode — this enables AP mode.

Step 2: Connect the POE Adapter and Antenna to the PC

Option A – PC has Ethernet Port:

• Take a POE adapter, the antenna, and an Ethernet cable

• Connect the POE cable from the antenna to the POE adapter

• Connect another Ethernet cable from the laptop to the POE adapter

Option B – PC does NOT have Ethernet Port:

• Take a POE adapter, the antenna, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter, and an Ethernet cable

• Connect the POE cable from the antenna to the POE adapter

• Connect another Ethernet cable from the USB adapter to the POE adapter

• Connect the USB adapter to the laptop/PC

Step 3: Adjust Network Settings

1. Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center

2. Identify your network adapter connected to the antenna

3. Click Ethernet > Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

4. Set the IP address (e.g., 192.168.188.121 for your computer)

5. Set the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0

 Step 4: Log in to the Antenna

1. Open a web browser and type: 192.168.188.253
   

2. Username: admin
   Password: admin

Step 5: Configure the Antenna

1. Go to the Wizard

2. Click on the AP Mode icon

3. Scan for the Sign City Wi-Fi network

4. Select the desired network from the list

5. Enter the Wi-Fi password: Signcity123

🔁 Step 6: Connect AP to Repeater

Once both antennas are configured:

• The AP (connected to the sign) will connect to the Repeater (mounted outside)

• The Repeater extends the on-site Wi-Fi network to the sign
