Internal Wire Rerouting for Close-Mount Configuration for a 2x5 led sign - Step 2

> Need the basics?

If you haven’t reviewed the initial wiring instructions for single-section signs, click here to view Part 1.

The images on this page guide you through the internal wire rerouting process necessary for mounting your LED signs close together. Originally, the sign was configured for external wire termination, but in your case, we’re transitioning to an internal setup to maintain a clean installation.

---

Image 1: Original Wiring Configuration (External Setup)

This image shows the standard external wire termination setup as originally configured. You can see how the cables exit the sign housing and connect externally between each sign section. This method works well for signs mounted further apart but is not ideal for your installation, which requires a more streamlined, internal wiring route.

---

Image 2: Internal Wiring – Master Side (with Control Card)

This image displays the internal layout of the master side, including both the bottom row (signal connections) and the top row (power connections).

Bottom Row (Signal Path):

The control card connects to Port 1 of the first video card.

Port 2 of the first video card connects internally to Port 1 of the second video card.

Port 2 of the second video card loops back to the original video card and exits through the main connector to the slave side.

Top Row (Power Path):

Power supplies are linked to terminal blocks.

To bridge power to the second side, a cable is routed internally from the terminal block on this side to the terminal block on the slave side.

---

Image 3: Internal Wiring – Slave Side (No Control Card)

This image shows the internal wiring of the slave side, completing the full loop from the master side.

Bottom Row (Signal Path):

The incoming cable from the master side connects to Port 1 of the first video card.

Port 2 of that video card connects to Port 1 of the final video card, completing the signal chain.

Top Row (Power Path):

A cable from the master side terminal feeds power to the terminal block here, linking the power supplies internally just like on the master side.

Final Notes

After the internal signal and power connections are completed:

1. Replace all LED modules.

2. Test the system by powering on the sign.

3. You’re ready to go with a flush-mounted, internally routed LED sign setup.
