LED Sign and Lightbox Installation on Single Pole in Dallas, TX

1) Project Summary

Install a 3' × 5' double-sided outdoor LED sign with an integrated 1' × 5' illuminated lightbox on a new single-pole mount

Proposed monument-style installation showing the double-sided 3' × 5' LED display with a 1' × 5' illuminated lightbox mounted approximately 8 feet above grade on a new single pole. The illustration also depicts the conceptual foundation below ground, which must be engineered to meet local soil, wind load, and structural requirements.

3) Bid Required

Please submit an itemized bid covering the complete scope below.

  • Site survey (if any) before installation
  • The installer provides engineered drawings before installation, with the note that since the property owner handles the permit, the drawings will be forwarded to confirm the sign was installed per code
  • Expected installation date: July 27–31
  • Pole and foundation/base (as required by site conditions and local code)
  • Internally illuminated lightbox fabrication (files to be shared per customer scope)
    • The lightbox and LED sign must have a uniform depth to present as a single cohesive unit — whichever component is wider sets the standard, and the other must match.
  • Structural frame/support system to mount the double-sided LED sign to the pole, including any required engineered or stamped drawings
  • Perforated metal shroud (full wrap trim cover) to fully enclose the rear and sides of the LED sign
  • Installation — set pole and mount the two signs (static and digital), including all on-site labor, equipment, and materials
  • Electrical (optional line item): Final termination and connection at the existing electrical/junction box only — no trenching, no new circuits or feeders
  • Terms and conditions apply

Not included in scope:

  • LED sign supply
  • Software programming and support

Proposed Rendering

Photorealistic rendering of the completed LED sign from the driver's perspective along South Lancaster Road.

Proposed Sign with Lightbox

Dimensioned illustration of the proposed LED sign and illuminated lightbox.

Angular Frame

Conceptual drawing of the fabricated steel angle frame on a single steel pole.

Full Wrap Trim Cover (Perforated Metal Shroud)

Exploded Assembly View

Exploded engineering illustration showing the relationship between all components.

Side View

Minimum depth between the two sides of the sign — this may be wider based on installation scope and engineer recommendation. The lightbox and LED sign must have a uniform depth to maintain a single cohesive structure. If one is widened, the other must match.

6) Wiring Specifications: How to Connect the Sign

Each section of the sign has clearly labeled ports for power, data, and accessories.

Electrical Recommendations

  • Two dedicated 20-amp circuits at 110V — one per side. Circuits must not be shared and must not be on a timer.
  • An indoor disconnect switch is recommended to allow power to be safely cut in the event of an emergency or extreme weather.
  • The power connection point should be within 5 feet of the sign to accommodate the sign's onboard cables. Running power to that point — whether from a breaker panel, conduit, or junction box — is outside the scope of installation and should be handled by a licensed electrician.
