XM Player Connection Issue: How to Check and Assign an IP Address on Your Computer

Step 1: Open Control Panel
- Click on the Start menu.
- Type Control Panel in the search bar and press Enter.
Step 2: Navigate to Network Settings
- In the Control Panel, select Network and Internet.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center.
- On the left-hand side, click Change adapter settings.
Step 3: Identify the Correct Ethernet Port
- Right-click on Ethernet. If using a USB to Ethernet adapter or if you have multiple Ethernet ports, unplug your antenna and wait for your computer to refresh to see which port responds.
- Plug your antenna back in and identify the active port.
- Right-click on the identified port and select Properties.
Step 4: Configure IP Address
- In the Ethernet properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Click on Properties.
- If the setting is on Obtain an IP address automatically, change it to Use the following IP address.
- Enter the following details:

192.168.1.127

Subnet mask:
255.255.255.0
(This will usually load by default)

Step 5: Save Settings
- Click OK.
- Click Close.
Step 6: Verify Antenna Connection
- Return to your XM player and attempt to connect to your sign.
- Ensure all lights are on both antennas (the access point and the client).
- If only the power and LAN lights are on, the antenna is powered and connected to the computer but lacks a signal.
- Both antennas should show full lights to confirm a connection.
