Power Requirements for Modular Outdoor Digital Signs From LED Sign City

Ensuring Safe and Reliable Operation

When installing your new LED sign, one of the most important factors to consider is the power requirement. To help you plan the setup smoothly, here’s a simple breakdown of the sign’s electrical needs and guidelines based on the power available at your site.

⚡ Power Specifications:

Your LED sign is designed to operate on single-phase AC power and supports an input voltage between 110V and 263V AC.

🔧 Installation Guidelines Based on Available Power:

1. If You Have Single-Phase 110V–240V:

Good to Go!
The sign is compatible with this voltage range and can be connected directly to the power source without any special adjustments.

2. If You Have 3-Phase 480V Power:

Step-Down Transformer Required
In facilities with 480V 3-phase service—common in industrial and commercial settings—a step-down transformer is required to bring the voltage into the acceptable 110V–263V single-phase range that the sign can safely use.

3. If You Have 277V Power (Typically from a 480Y/277V System):

Line-to-Neutral Connection Needed
The sign can be powered using 277V as long as it is connected line-to-neutral, not line-to-line.
It is essential that the neutral is properly grounded and accessible at the panel for safe and stable operation.

📌 Important Reminders:

  • All final power connections must be reviewed and completed by a licensed electrician.

  • Proper grounding, adherence to local electrical codes, and safety checks are essential before powering on the sign.
