LED Sign Mounting Methods for Two-Column Structures
The images below illustrate two approved methods for mounting an LED sign to a structure supported by two vertical columns. Each option explains how the structural frame and angle irons interface with the columns to safely support the sign.
Option 1: Front-Face Mounted Frame Spanning Across Two Columns
In this configuration, the LED sign is mounted to a structural frame that spans across the face of both columns. Angle irons run horizontally from one column to the other, creating a continuous support surface on the front face of the structure.

Front-Face Mount – Installed Condition:
The LED sign is secured to the frame that bridges the two columns, with the load transferred directly across both supports on the face of the monument.

Option 2: Recessed Frame Mounted Between Two Columns
In this configuration, the LED sign is mounted to a structural frame that is positioned between the two columns. The frame sits within the opening, resulting in a recessed installation where the sign is supported from the inside edges of both columns.
Recessed Mount – Frame Positioning Between Columns:

Recessed Mount – Pre-Install Condition:
The LED sign mounts directly to the recessed frame, with the load transferred inward to the two columns rather than across the front face.
