How to Set a Blackout Schedule in Viplex Handy Step By Step Guide

Before You Begin
- Make sure the sign is powered on and the controller is responsive.
- Install/update Viplex Handy on your mobile device.
- Have Wi-Fi/Bluetooth (as applicable) enabled on your device.
Step 1 — Connect the Sign
- Open Viplex Handy on your phone.
- Connect to your sign (scan/choose device as prompted).

Step 2 — Open Screen Status Control
- Go to Screen Management.
- Scroll down and select Screen Status Control.
Step 3 — Add a New Schedule
Tap the + button to create a new schedule entry.
Step 4 — Set the Power On Schedule (Normal)
- Set Control Mode to
Normal
(this turns the screen on). - Select the start time for power on.
- Choose a repeat pattern (e.g., every day or specific days of the week).
- Tap OK (top right).
- Enable the toggle next to Normal.
- Tap Save (top right).
Step 5 — Set the Power Off Schedule (Blackout)
- Tap the + button again to add a second entry.
- Set Control Mode to
Blackout
(this turns the screen off). - Select the time for power off.
- Choose the repeat pattern (daily or selected weekdays).
- Tap OK (top right).

Enable the toggle next to Blackout.
- Tap Save (top right).
Important: Check the Sign’s Clock
The on/off schedules work correctly only if the sign’s internal clock is set to the correct local time. If needed, adjust the clock first.
Connection Tips (Optional)
- Ensure Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is enabled on your phone.
- Stand close to the controller (within a few feet).
- Power-cycle the sign if it doesn’t appear in the device list.
Set the Clock (Optional)
- In Viplex Handy, open the sign’s settings.
- Set the correct time zone and local time.
- Tap Save and recheck your schedules.
