Angular Frame and Pole System – Engineered Support for LED Signs
Product Details
For LED sign installations where a simple wall mount isn't an option, our Angular Frame and Pole System provides a robust, versatile foundation. Designed to support your sign on either a single pole or double pole configuration, this system is ideal for roadside signage, pylon signs, and any location requiring an elevated, freestanding structure.
What It Is
The Angular Frame and Pole System consists of two main engineered components working together:
-
The Pole(s): One or two heavy-duty metal poles that serve as the primary vertical support. The poles are provided for the customer to embed in a concrete foundation on-site to resist wind and gravitational forces.
-
The Angular Frame: A metal framework that attaches to the top of the pole(s). The LED sign cabinet is then mounted to this frame, providing the correct orientation and structural interface.
This system creates a rigid structure where the pole transfers all loads from the sign and frame deep into the ground, ensuring long-term stability.
Standard Pole Specifications
Our standard pole design is optimized for a wide range of medium-format signage applications.
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Height Above Grade | Maximum 10 feet (from ground level to the bottom of the sign cabinet/frame) |
| Recommended Embedment Depth | Minimum 4 feet (below grade, set in a concrete foundation) |
| Total Pole Length | 14+ feet (4 ft below grade + 10 ft above grade + additional length for frame connection as required) |
Note: Final embedment depth is dependent on site-specific soil conditions and wind-load calculations, and should be determined by a local engineer or installer.
Foundation Responsibility
The pole is supplied ready for customer installation. The customer or their installer is responsible for:
-
Digging the hole
-
Setting the pole plumb and level
-
Pouring the concrete foundation
-
Ensuring the embedment depth meets local building codes and engineering requirements
A properly engineered foundation is critical for resisting the overturning forces created by wind against the sign's surface area. We recommend consulting with a local installer or engineer to determine the correct foundation for your site conditions.
Configuration Options
Choose the pole configuration that best suits your site and aesthetic needs.
Option 1:
A classic, streamlined look. One central pole supports the sign via the angular frame. Ideal for:
-
Roadside pylon signs
-
Locations with limited footprint
-
A clean, modern aesthetic
Option 2: Double-Pole Structure

Two poles provide a wider stance and increased lateral stability. Ideal for:
-
Wider sign cabinets that require support at two points
-
Sites with higher wind-load requirements
-
A more substantial, traditional look
When to Choose This System

This system is the right choice for your project if:
-
You need to install a sign where no building facade is available.
-
Your goal is a freestanding pylon or pole sign visible from the road.
-
The sign is a medium format, up to approximately 120–150 sq. ft.
-
The sign will be mounted at a height of up to 10 feet above grade.
-
You have a local installer who will handle the foundation work.
What's Included
-
Custom-Engineered Pole(s): Metal poles, cut to the required length for your desired above-grade height (maximum 10 ft) plus embedment length.
-
Angular Metal Frame: Custom-fabricated to the dimensions of your LED sign cabinet.
-
Mounting Hardware: All necessary brackets and fasteners for attaching the sign to the frame.
Note: Concrete, excavation, and installation labor are provided by the customer or their contractor.
