Lifetime System Warranty Upgrade and Continuity Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
1. Applicability
This policy applies to all LED Sign City systems purchased on or after January 1, 2026. Systems purchased prior to this date remain covered under the warranty terms stated on the original invoice at the time of purchase. Those terms are unchanged and fully honored.
2. Warranty Philosophy
LED Sign City builds LED signs using 20+ year aluminum cabinetry and modular internal technology. This policy is designed to ensure the sign remains a permanent, upgradeable asset, not a disposable product. As technology evolves, the system can be refreshed rather than replaced.
This is a System Continuity Policy, intended to fairly share the long-term cost of maintenance, refresh, and upgrades between LED Sign City and the system owner.
3. Two-Phase Coverage Structure
Phase 1: Full Coverage Period (Years 1–2)
-
Coverage: Full parts coverage for defects in materials or workmanship.
-
Scope: Applies to all components supplied by LED Sign City.
-
Resolution: Repair or replacement at LED Sign City’s discretion.
-
Shipping & Labor: Shipping and labor are not included unless explicitly stated in writing.
Phase 2: Lifetime System Support & Upgrade Continuity (Year 3+)
From Year 3 forward, for the life of the system, LED Sign City supports the owner through Advanced Exchange Pricing and Upgrade Credits.
4. Component Coverage & Treatment
A. LED Display Modules (Core System Components)
-
40% Trade-In Credit: Eligible for a guaranteed 40% trade-in credit toward current-generation compatible LED modules, regardless of system age.
-
Mandatory Return: Return of original LED modules is required. These may be refurbished to provide superior color and brightness matching for legacy systems.
-
Uptime Support: Temporary replacement modules may be installed to maintain operation while original modules are serviced.
-
Technology Discontinuation: If original display technology is discontinued, the 40% credit applies toward a Full-Face System Refresh, including all modules and required internal electronics.
B. Active Electronics
(Controllers, receiving cards, power supplies, video cards, PoE adapters, antennas, sensors)
-
Net Continuity Price: Replacement components are sold at a preferred rate (Retail Pricing minus 40%).
-
Discretionary Returns: LED Sign City reserves the right to require the return of electronics based on condition and value. Return requirements will be disclosed at the time of claim approval.
5. Logistics & Return Process
-
Repair-First Workflow: Replacement components are shipped first to minimize downtime and allow for immediate repair.
-
Return Window: When a return is required, components must be shipped back within 30 days of delivery.
-
Non-Return Provision: Failure to return required components may result in an invoice for the remaining 40% retail value.
-
Shipping Rates: Customers may utilize LED Sign City’s negotiated corporate shipping rates. These costs are billed to the customer at our preferred discounted levels, typically lower than standard retail freight.
6. Definition of System Life
System Life is defined as the period during which the original aluminum structural cabinet remains in its original installation location. Relocation, modification, or reinstallation of the cabinet may affect coverage and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
7. Labor & Cost Exclusions
-
Labor: This warranty covers components only. Labor for installation, removal, diagnostics, programming, or lift equipment is not included unless purchased as a separate add-on.
-
Shipping: Shipping is billed at current rates for replacements, upgrades, and trade-ins.
8. Damage & Environmental Exclusions
Damage resulting from electrical surges, improper wiring, or environmental events (flooding, fire, wind, vandalism) is excluded from Phase 1 (Full Coverage). However, such damage remains eligible for Phase 2 Continuity Pricing to assist the owner in restoring the system.
9. Summary Statement
If a component ships inside an LED Sign City sign, we take responsibility for keeping the system operational—through repair, replacement, refurbishment, or upgrade—for the life of the system.
