This checklist gives you a clear roadmap to prepare for installation, avoid delays, and ensure your sign goes up safely and smoothly.

✅ 1. Site Planning & Measurements

Confirm the exact location where the sign will be placed.
Measure available space (height, width, and setback from property lines).
Check visibility from traffic lanes and ensure no obstructions (trees, power lines, or buildings).

✅ 2. Permits & Local Regulations

Apply for a sign permit with your local city/county.
Verify zoning restrictions (height limits, square footage, and setbacks).
Understand any permit fee coverage (we include up to $200, additional city charges may apply).
Know whether your jurisdiction requires engineered drawings.

✅ 3. Utility Checks & Clearances

Call 811 or your local “call before you dig” service to mark underground utilities.
Relocate your sign site if it conflicts with gas, water, or power lines.
Mark utility easements to avoid future conflicts.

✅ 4. Engineering & Foundation Design

Determine the foundation type needed: direct-burial, base plate on pad, or anchor-bolt.
Order an engineered drawing for your specific site and sign size.
Plan for soil conditions (rock, clay, sand, or water table depth may affect foundation design).
Decide if you need single-pole or dual-pole support.

Ensure you have all structural steel components (poles, beams, L-brackets, angle iron).

Plan your installation around weather conditions — rain and snow can delay excavation and concrete curing.
If pouring concrete, allow for at least 7 days curing time before loading the structure.
Coordinate delivery of the sign cabinet with your foundation timeline.
