3) How much power does the sign need?

The maximum power consumption of the Taxi Top LED Display is 570 watts at 12.6V. However, the average power consumption is typically around 100 watts, depending on the colors used in your content. Ads with more white or bright colors will consume more power and approach the maximum consumption level.

4) What if I’m connecting the sign to a standalone battery? How many amp-hours (Ah) does it require?

The Taxi Top LED Display is designed to connect directly to your vehicle’s battery, which is sufficient to power the sign during normal operation. This setup ensures a reliable power source while driving.

However, if you wish to use an external power source, here’s additional information to help:

  • At maximum power consumption, the sign could draw up to 45 amps at 12.6V.
  • During normal operation with average content, the sign consumes closer to 100 watts per hour, which translates to approximately 8 Ah at 12.6V.

For example, if you’re using a 4.0 Ah battery at 56V, you can expect around 2.24 hours of runtime, depending on the battery’s condition and efficiency. Keep in mind that actual consumption will vary based on the brightness and content displayed.
