Set Up Your Canva Account
Canva is the recommended design tool for creating LED sign ads. Follow these steps to get started.
Access Canva.com
Open Canva.com in a new tab and click "Sign Up" to register using your email, Google, or Facebook account.

Choose Your Account Type
After signing up, Canva will ask how you plan to use the platform.
- Free Account:Has everything you need to start designing LED sign ads.
- Canva Pro:Great if you want access to premium stock photos and brand kits.
- Canva for Nonprofits:Nonprofits can apply to get Canva Pro for free — great deal if it applies to you!
Create a New Design
Once logged in, look for "Create a design" button and click it. You'll see options for standard templates.
Select "Custom Size" — Crucial for LED Signs
Do NOT use standard Canva templates like "Instagram Post" or "Presentation." They will appear squished and distorted on your LED board. Instead, click "Custom size" at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
Do not use preset templates — always use Custom Size for LED signs.
Enter Your Sign's Exact Pixel Dimensions
Change the measurement unit from "in" (inches) to "px" (pixels). Then enter the exact height and width of your LED sign's pixel resolution. This ensures your ad looks crisp and avoids any stretching or cropping on the display.
