10 Common myths about LED signs

Myths are something that lived for many years and that will keep existing for many. They drift around many things and people, creating uncertainty and a picture that maybe isn’t true. The nature of those myths determines how the object will be seen. If the myth is not good, people will be cautious and avoid the thing around myth revolves.

There are myths about LED signs as well, and in today’s post, you will learn which ones are false.

1. Complicated installation

The honest truth is that LED signs are easy to install because the process is simple and efficient. It doesn’t require more than bolts and iron poles.

2. LED signs consume a lot of energy

It depends, If you plan on mining bitcoins with an LED sign, then yes, they would consume a lot of power. Jokes aside, LED signs are more energy efficient than some other electric signs.

3. It’s tricky to update and change the displayed content

This myth is just a myth. For example, our LED signs support well-developed software customers can use to create the desired content. The software is easy to use, but it allows endless possibilities for presentation. Also, it can be changed easily with remote access control!

4. LED signs are causing traffic accidents

I personally understand why people would think that this is true. Signs can grab the attention of drivers, and in the next moment, something bad can happen. However, International Sign Association says otherwise in their white paper. They carefully studied this topic, with the main subjects being statistical and human factors. Results showed that LED signs are perfectly safe and they don’t cause any accidents.

5. LED signs last forever

False. It would be cool if LED signs could last forever. Usually, their power lasts for around a decade (if they are on 24/7), and power fades away. But, modular LED signs have a greater life expectancy because their parts can be easily changed and upgraded, so they can keep pushing.

6. LED signs are non-effective during strong sunlight

Well, first of all, traffic lights and road signs have LEDs inside of them, which shows how powerful and effective they are when it comes to visibility during powerful sunlight.  Most LED signs are easily visible when the sun is bright, of course, if they have intense brightness, and if you are looking to buy a sign for yourself, pay attention to the brightness.

7. Signs can overheat!

Light-emitting diodes produce less heat than standard light bulbs. There is no chance that the LED sign will overheat. Also, I talked about that subject in this blog post, so feel free to check it out. Anyway, their heat level is similar to the heat of the computer screen, so there is no reason to trust this myth.

8. LED signs are way too expensive/cheap

When people say this, they generalize without thinking about the specifications of LED signs. Everything depends on them. Signs with lower resolution and brightness will naturally be cheaper, while the opposite ones will be more expensive. There are a lot of options for every budget.

9. LED signs are bad for the community’s aesthetic

Okay, let's stop and think. What could affect the overall aesthetic more, worn out and old signs or well-placed bright and colorful signs? Imagine driving through the city, and your eyes are looking around, and suddenly you see a sign that looks like someone placed it two centuries ago. That wouldn’t leave a good impression, but on the other hand, if you look at nicely placed LED signs that leisurely display content, we can agree that it’s an entirely different picture.

10. Digital signs are ugly

You can freely browse and look at how LED signs look. Spoiler alert they look nice and sleek. There are no loose wires, the signs do not have weird shapes, and they don't look off-putting at all. The only thing that can ruin the look of LED signs is ugly content!

 Conclusion

That would be it, ladies and gentlemen. Now you know that myths are just myths and that there are not true at all.
