1. Project Summary

LED Sign City is requesting itemized bids from licensed contractors for the installation of one commercial-grade, double-sided LED sign. This is a turnkey project that involves installing a high-resolution LED sign on an existing 2-pole structure. The display will feature modern, high-resolution screens designed to enhance brightness, resolution, and content flexibility for dynamic business announcements.

• Double-sided LED display

• Dimensions: 4.2 feet high × 6.3 feet wide (50.4" × 75.6")

• Turnkey installation on existing structure

Contractors will be responsible for site surveys, obtaining necessary local permits, and coordinating stamped engineered drawings if required. The scope includes making final electrical connections to an existing junction box provided by the site’s electrician.

 2. Contractor Requirements

To qualify, contractors must:

• Be properly licensed to perform commercial signage or general contracting work in the state of Kentucky.

• Have proven experience with LED sign installations on existing pole structures.

• Be capable of managing:

  • Site surveys and permit acquisition processes.

  • Coordination of stamped engineered drawings, if required by local codes.

  • Electrical connections to pre-installed junction boxes.

Contractors without prior LED sign installation experience are encouraged to bid if they can demonstrate relevant expertise in commercial signage or electrical work.

4. Scope of Work

The contractor will be responsible for the following:

• Conduct a site survey to assess pole structure conditions, electrical access, and installation logistics.

• Obtain all necessary local permits for sign installation.

• Coordinate stamped engineered drawings, if required by local code or site conditions.

• Remove existing static sign on the monument

• Install the new double-sided LED sign onto the existing 2-pole structure using the provided mounting hardware.

• Perform any necessary light fabrication or bracket adaptation to ensure secure attachment and proper fitment.

• Verify the location and accessibility of the existing junction box with the site electrician.

• Coordinate indoor disconnect switch placement with the electrician (if required for code compliance).

• Make final electrical connections between the LED sign and the existing, pre-installed junction box.

 5. Scope Limitations

The following items are not included in the contractor’s scope:

• Sign content setup, programming, or software configuration.

• Running or installing new electrical wiring.

• Performing electrical service upgrades or changes to the building’s electrical panel.

• Any upstream electrical work beyond the final connection point.

 6. LED Sign Specifications

The LED display to be installed is a single-sided, commercial-grade outdoor unit designed for pole structure applications. All major sign components and standard mounting hardware will be provided by LED Sign City and delivered to the site prior to installation.

• Proposed Sign Rendering: A visual mock-up showing the LED sign mounted on the 2-pole structure to illustrate placement, scale, and orientation.

• Mounting Reference Diagram: Technical illustration of the mounting system used to secure the sign to the pole structure, including anchor points and structural interface details.

8. Bid Submission Requirements

Bids must include an itemized cost breakdown covering:

• Site survey.

• Permit acquisition.

• Removal of the existing static sign.

• Installation of the new double-sided LED sign on the 2-pole structure.

• Final electrical connection to the existing junction box.

• Any equipment rental, labor, or light fabrication costs.

• Total project cost, inclusive of labor, materials, and applicable fees.
