School Sign Replacement — Double-Sided Programmable LED

This project involves replacing the school's existing changeable static double-sided  sign with a new double-sided programmable LED sign measuring 4′ × 8′. The new sign will be installed on the same existing poles, making use of the current foundation and infrastructure already in place — eliminating the need for new pole setting, concrete work, or major site disturbance.


Current Sign

The current sign displays content on both sides . The poles, foundation, and electrical conduit are in place and will be retained for the new installation, eliminating the need for new pole setting or concrete work.

The aerial view shows the sign's position relative to the roadway, parking areas, and structures on site. The location provides visibility from the primary traffic approach. The double-sided sign will also serve drivers traveling in the opposite direction — maximizing exposure without relocating the sign structure. At the street intersection, upgraded color LED gives clear vision from far.

Proposed Sign

The cabinet dimensions are slightly larger than the 4′ × 8′ active display area to accommodate framing, weatherproofing, and structural attachment hardware. Brightness is rated at 7,000 nits for full daylight readability.

Internal assembly (cover removed)  Shows the LED module grid and internal steel frame. Modular panel construction allows individual tiles to be replaced in the field without removing the entire cabinet — reducing future maintenance cost and downtime.

The exploded diagram illustrates how the new sign cabinet separates into its component layers — display modules, internal frame, enclosure panels, and pole mounting interface. The mounting hardware is designed to bolt onto the existing poles using the current attachment points, keeping the scope of work to sign replacement only with no civil or structural work required.
