Troubleshooting Your LED Sign City Player: Password Issues and Network Reset Steps
If you're having trouble accessing your Taurus player—especially if the default login credentials no longer work—there’s a good chance the password was changed at some point and is now forgotten. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you reset your player and restore access.
The Problem
A common issue customers experience is being unable to log in to their LED sign’s player. In this case:
-
The Taurus network was not visible on your phone.
-
You were able to connect to the
SignCity
Wi-Fi network using the password:Signcity123
(case sensitive). -
You attempted to log in to the player (e.g., Taurus 10019868) using default passwords
123456
andSN2008@+
, but neither worked.
Likely Cause
The player password may have been changed and is now forgotten, which prevents you from logging in.
Solution: Reset the Taurus Player
To regain access, you’ll need to reset the Taurus player. Follow these steps carefully:
1. Write Down the IP Address First
Before resetting the player, log in to the terminal (if possible) and write down the current IP address displayed.
-
If the IP starts with 10 or 192, the subnet mask is
255.255.255.0
-
If the IP starts with 172, the subnet mask is
255.255.0.0
You will need this information to restore connectivity after the reset.
2. Physically Reset the Player
To reset the player to factory settings:
-
Remove the module cover on your LED sign to expose the Taurus player.
-
Locate the small reset button on the player.
-
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release.
-
The player will restart, and the default login credentials will be restored.
3. Connect to the AP Network
After the reset, the player will no longer broadcast the SignCity
network. Instead, it will broadcast a temporary network that looks like this:
Connect to this AP network using one of the following passwords:
-
12345678
-
or
SN2008@+
(One of them should work depending on the device model.)
4. Log Into the Player
Once connected to the AP network:
-
Open your browser and go to the IP address shown earlier or try the default:
192.168.1.100
-
Use the following credentials:
-
Username:
admin
-
Password:
SN2008@+
-
5. Restore the IP Address
To restore communication on your network:
-
Go to the Network Settings in the player’s dashboard.
-
Enter the original IP address you wrote down before the reset.
-
Use the correct subnet mask based on the IP format.
-
Save and restart the player.
