1. Overview
This guide explains how to reset the network settings on the XM Player Control Card (ASYNCH11). Resetting the card can help resolve connectivity issues when all other network settings are confirmed but the sign still won’t communicate with your PC.
2. What You’ll Need
-
Access to the control card (location varies by system setup)
-
5mm Allen wrench (for external enclosures)
-
Power source connected to the sign
3. Quick Note on Default vs. Custom IPs
-
Systems using the default IP address should be able to reconnect as usual after the reset.
-
If your system uses a custom IP address, you’ll need to connect your computer directly to the sign after the reset and reassign the IP.
4. Setup Types (Preview)
This guide covers three possible hardware setups:
-
Option 1: Hinged Sign Cabinet
-
Option 2: External Controller Enclosure
-
Option 3: XIGNZ Modular Setup
Please identify your setup before starting the reset process.
5. Identify Your Setup
Begin by identifying your sign’s configuration. The location of the controller will determine how you access the reset button. Then, follow the steps below to complete the reset process.
Option 1: Hinged Sign Cabinet
-
Open the sign via its hinges.
-
Locate the controller inside.
-
Find the reset button near the power ports and the green audio out port.
Option 2: External Controller Enclosure
-
Use a 5mm Allen wrench to loosen (not remove) the four screws on the face of the controller box (see image in Appendix).
-
Open the box to access the controller.
-
The reset button may be on the top or bottom, located near the green audio out port and power cables.
Option 3: XIGNZ Modular Setup
-
Open the sign and remove the LED module in the bottom-left corner.
-
Locate the vertically mounted controller.
-
The reset button will be on the left side, near the power cables and green audio port.
6. Reset Procedure
-
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
-
Release the button and wait 1–2 minutes.
7. Connection & IP Reassignment
-
Try connecting to the sign using your usual control method.
-
For systems with a custom IP, connect your PC directly to the controller and manually assign the desired IP.
8. Troubleshooting
-
If reset does not resolve the issue, the network port may be faulty and the card may require replacement.
9. Wrap-Up
-
Confirm restored connectivity.
-
Reconfigure settings as needed.
-
Proceed with sign operation or configuration.
