How to Set Schedules in ViPlex: Step-by-Step Instructions

In this guide, you’ll learn how to efficiently manage and schedule content for your LED signs using ViPlex. The ability to set schedules allows you to display the right content at the right time, enhancing your advertising impact. Whether it’s for daily specials, seasonal promotions, or specific events, setting up schedules helps you automate content changes and reduce manual updates.

By setting schedules, you can improve your sign's effectiveness, save time, and ensure your messaging stays consistent and timely. 

1. Creating a Single Solution with Multiple Pages:

   • Instead of creating separate solutions for each day, create one solution and add additional pages for different days within that solution.
   • On each page, you can set specific schedules (e.g., Monday, Tuesday, etc.) by adjusting the Page Properties. For example, create one page and set it to display only on Monday, then click the plus icon to add more pages for each subsequent day.

2. Setting Specific Day Schedules:

   • To assign a specific day for content to be displayed, select the page, go to Page Properties, and choose the specific day (e.g., Saturday, Sunday, etc.) when the content should play.
   • You can continue adding additional pages and assigning them to different days of the week as needed.

3. Using Validity Range for Specific Dates:

   • If you need content to play for a specific date range (e.g., for a holiday or special event), you can use the Validity Range option in Page Properties. This allows you to set a start and end date, such as "25th of September" or "Week of Christmas."
   • The content will only play within that specific date range.

4. Setting Time of Day for Content to Play:

   • If you want content to play at a specific time of day, such as during lunch specials, you can set the Time in 24-hour format:
     • 00:00 is midnight.
     • 06:00 is 6:00 AM.
     • 17:00 is 5:00 PM.
   • This can be useful if you want content to play during specific hours, such as 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for lunchtime offers.

5. Managing Content for the Whole Day:

   • If you want a page to play all day, set the Time to 00:00 - 24:00. This will ensure the content runs continuously throughout the day.
   • If you have multiple files for the same day, they will play sequentially. For example, if you have three files for Monday, they will cycle through File 1, File 2, and File 3.

6. Setting Play Times for Specific Pages:

   • You can set the Play Times for a page to control how many times it repeats before moving on to the next page.
   • For example, if you want one page to play three times before moving on, set the play time to 3. This is useful if you want to emphasize a particular message or content.

7. Adjusting Transition Speed:

   • The transition speed controls how long the page stays on the screen before moving to the next page. This can be adjusted in the Widget Properties.

8. Connecting to the Sign for Upload:

   • When designing content, you don't need to be connected to the sign. You only need to connect when uploading the solution to the sign.
   • Ensure that the device is connected to the correct AP (Access Point) or Wi-Fi network when uploading content. If you lose connection, verify your connection to the correct network.

   • After setting the schedule, ensure the Time Synchronization is correct on the sign, which can be done through the Terminal Control in ViPlex.
