How to Connect to Your LED Sign Wirelessly with ViPlex Express
In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to connect to your LED sign wirelessly using ViPlex Express. Follow the instructions below to connect to the internal Wi-Fi broadcasted by the sign.
Step 1: Install ViPlex Express
Make sure you have ViPlex Express installed on your computer before proceeding. If you don’t have it installed yet, download and install it from our website.
Step 2: Connect to the AP Wi-Fi Network
- Open your computer’s Wi-Fi settings.
- Look for a network starting with "AP1000," followed by a series of numbers (e.g., AP1006034). Your network may have a slightly different number sequence, but it will always begin with "AP1000."

Connect to the AP1000 network.
- You should have the password for this network. If your sign was purchased before 2024, it may use an older password, but recent purchases will have a different password, which you should already have.
Step 3: Understanding the Network Range
- The AP1000 network is a backup network with limited range, as the antenna is built inside the sign. You need to be close to the sign to connect.
- If you need longer range access, use the POP antennas we provided, which extend the range. For these antennas, look for the SignCity network instead of AP1000 and use the corresponding password to connect.
Step 4: Open ViPlex Express
- After connecting to the AP1000 (or SignCity) network, open ViPlex Express on your computer.
- Wait for the software to load and check your connection status.
Step 5: Check Your Player Status
- If this is your first time connecting to the sign, you'll see gray icons representing players you’ve connected to previously but are not currently connected.
- A yellow/orange icon indicates that you are connected to the Wi-Fi but not logged into the player.
- To log in, click "Connect" and enter your username and password (which you should have received with your sign).
- Once logged in, the icon should turn green, indicating that you are connected and online.
Step 6: Troubleshooting Connection Issues
- If ViPlex Express shows that you are connected to the Wi-Fi but you don’t see the sign in the player list, click the refresh button.
- If you still aren’t logged in, try again by clicking Connect and entering your credentials.
