How to Connect the TB2 to Wi-Fi without Using a CPE Antenna

If your sign is close to an internet source—such as inside a building or mounted on a nearby wall—connecting it directly to Wi-Fi offers a streamlined, clutter-free setup. This approach eliminates the need for an external CPE antenna, making it ideal for locations where a clean, professional presentation is a priority. By connecting your TB2 directly, you can simplify the installation, reduce extra equipment, and ensure a seamless look without compromising performance.

Important Notes

    1. Access Network Configuration

    • Open the control settings on your TB2 device and navigate to Network Configuration.

    • Verify that the current IP address is set to DHCP by default with no network assigned.

    2. Disable DHCP and Assign a Static IP Address

    • In Network Configuration, go to Wired Network settings.

    • Uncheck the DHCP option to disable automatic IP assignment.
    • Manually enter a static IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.128) and the Subnet Mask (typically 255.255.255.0, though you should confirm with your network requirements).

    • Click Apply to save the settings.

    • Confirm that both the IP address and subnet mask have been applied correctly by selecting Read Back to verify they display as entered.

    3. Access Wi-Fi Network Settings

    • After configuring the static IP, navigate to Wi-Fi Network Settings to continue the setup.

    4. Switch to Wi-Fi SDA Mode

    • In Wi-Fi Network Settings, locate and select Wi-Fi SDA Mode.
    • Enter the SSID (network name) and password for the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. Ensure both are case-sensitive and entered accurately.

    5. Apply and Confirm Connection

    • Click OK to apply the Wi-Fi connection settings. The device will attempt to connect to the specified Wi-Fi network.

    • Click Read Back to confirm the connection. If successful, the TB2 should display an IP address within the Wi-Fi network’s range, confirming it’s connected.

    6. Important Notes

    • If the connection fails, you may need to reconnect using an Ethernet cable and re-enter the settings.
