How to Configure the IP Address for Your LED Sign

(For LED signs using ViPlex Express or ViPlex Handy; compatible with VNNOX Cloud)

To ensure your LED sign connects properly to your network, you may need to adjust the IP address settings using ViPlex Express (PC software) or ViPlex Handy (Mobile app). These changes are often necessary to establish a stable connection to the internet and allow your sign to communicate with the VNNOX Cloud Platform.

You have two options for IP configuration:

  • DHCP – Automatically assigns an IP address from your network (recommended for most users)

  • Static IP – Manually assign a fixed IP address for more controlled environments

If You’re Using ViPlex Express (Windows PC)

  1. Open ViPlex Express on your Windows PC connected to the LED sign controller.

  2. Go to Control Settings > Network Configuration.

  3. Review the current IP settings.

To Use DHCP (Automatic IP):

  • Ensure the DHCP box is checked.

  • Click Apply.

  • The system will automatically receive an IP address from your router.

To Set a Static IP:

  1. Uncheck the DHCP box.

  2. Manually enter the network settings:

    • IP Address: (e.g., 192.168.1.128 – provided by your IT admin or based on your router)

    • Subnet Mask: (typically 255.255.255.0)

  3. Click Apply to save.

  4. Click Read Back to confirm the new settings are applied.

Using ViPlex Handy (Mobile App)

  1. Launch ViPlex Handy on your smartphone.

  2. Navigate to Device Management and select your screen.

  3. Tap the gear icon or device settings.

  4. Go to Network Settings.

To Use DHCP:

  • Turn DHCP ON.

  • Save the settings.

To Use a Static IP:

  1. Turn DHCP OFF.

  2. Manually input:

    • IP Address

    • Subnet Mask

  3. Save the changes.

Notes:

  • These steps apply to signs that report to the VNNOX cloud, but IP configuration is always handled through ViPlex Express or ViPlex Handy.

  • Ensure the controller is physically connected to your network (Ethernet or USB-to-Ethernet adapter) before making changes.

  • If the sign doesn't appear online after updating, restart the device and double-check your IP settings.
