How to Change Video Source in ViPlex Express
One of the most common issues customers report is not seeing content on their screen. This is often due to incorrect video settings. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to check and adjust the video source for your LED sign using ViPlex Express.
Step 1: Connect to Your Sign
- Wireless Connection: If you're connecting wirelessly, connect to the AP network.
- Using Long Range Antennas: Connect to the 'SignCity' network.
- Wired Connection: If your sign is already connected to your network via a hardwire, skip this step.
- Cloud Connection: If you're using the cloud option, the steps will differ, which we will address in another video.
Step 2: Open ViPlex Express
-
Open the ViPlex Software.
- If you’re using the cloud, you can still install ViPlex on a local machine and get close to the sign to connect locally or online.
-
Log in and Verify Connection.
- Once connected, ensure you are logged in and that your status shows "online."
Step 3: Navigate to Video Source Settings
-
Go to the 'Terminal Control' Tab.
- You’ll find this under "Terminal Solutions" and "Advanced Solutions."
- Select 'Video Source'.
Step 4: Choose the Correct Video Source
-
Internal Player (Manual Control):
- If you are creating content in the software and publishing it directly to the sign, select Manual Control and set the video source to Internal Source. This will play the content stored on the player.
-
HDMI (External Source):
- If you are using an external source like a media player or Fire Stick, select HDMI to display the external content.
Step 5: Apply Settings
-
Set the Video Source.
- For internal content, select Internal; for external devices, select HDMI.
-
Hit 'Apply'.
- If the video source was the issue, the content should appear on your screen immediately.
